CellChek EB-10™ - eye bank specular microscope system PDF Print E-mail

The world’s most widely used, eye bank specular microscope ... now even better.

Solid features including, ease of use, simplicity of operation, the industry's most experienced eye bank customer care, and Konan Medical's reputation for superior quality have made Konan's eye bank specular microscope the overwhelmingly preferred system for the largest eye banks globally.

Konan eye bank specular microscopes are the preferred system for the largest eye banks in the USA.  Additionally, more than 90% of IFEB / TBI international eye banks and more the 80% of APABO (Latin American eye banks) use Konan EB specular microscopes.

  • Ultra-wide viewing area - 0.48 X 0.6 mm

Konan's compact CellChek EB specular microscope features a high resolution CCD camera that captures high quality images of the donor cornea.  A built-in cell analysis system provides rapid and accurate determinations of cell count, polymegethism (cell size variations) and pleomorphism (cell shape variations).

The system's XYZ and rocking platform mechanisms make tracking of endothelial cells easy. The built-in pachymeter for donor corneal thickness measurements is useful for corneas that have undergone refractive surgery.  The CellChek EB can analyze the cornea either from a corneal chamber or directly from any vial, thus eliminating the risk of contamination and reducing time and costs.  As an option, Konan provides a holder in which to place intact donor eyes for direct observation prior to tissue processing.

The built-in analysis system has five methods of cell counting, making it easy to analyze even corneas with harder to see cells.  Donor information and cell analysis data with histograms are immediately displayed on the monitor;  the endothelial image and all the necessary data can be printed out with the printer.

Konan Quote

Konan specular microscopes are recognized in the industry as the de facto standard for ECD determination. This is supported in the minutes from the FDA panel meeting to discuss the ARTISAN® lens:

"Data from 12 sites were chosen because they used the Konan specular microscopes. This instrument is now the accepted standard for the most accurate determination of endothelial cell density."  R. Doyle Stulting, MD, PhD.
